MANUSCRIPT FORMAT:

Use 20# white paper. (8.5" x 11")
Use double-spaced lines with a 1" margin on top, bottom, left and right sides.
Type on only one side of the paper.
Do not justify the margins and turn off the hyphenation function.
Indent 5 spaces and use a 12 pt font.
Put your name, book title and page number at the top of each page. (Adams/Prince of TimePage 1)
Indicate scene breaks with a single pound sign(#)centered on each page, no extra lines before or after.
Include a MS cover sheet with your name, book title, address, phone number and email address, plus word count.

DO NOT SEND A COMPLETED MANUSCRIPT UNLESS SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED -- Send a cover letter, synopsis (about 5 pages) and the first three chapters of your work only.

Only use clips or rubber bands to secure your manuscript.

Enclose an SASE if you want your submission returned. Please send an envelope large enough to accomodate your work.

Retain a copy of all material in case the original gets lost in the mail.

ESTIMATING WORD COUNT 

You must include your books estimated word count. If you use the formatting instructions above (1" margins, 25 double-spaced lines per page, and a 12 point non-proportional font like Courier, then the rule of thumb is one page equals 250 words. Below is an estimated chart:

100 pages = 25,000 words

200 pages = 50,000 words

240 pages = 60,000 words.

280 pages = 70,000 words.

320 pages = 80,000 words.

360 pages = 90,000 words.

400 pages = 100,000 words.

440 pages = 110,000 words.

480 pages = 120,000.
